Markus Vermeer

Chief Executive Officer

Markus Vermeer brings more than 25 years of experience in global banking and institutional finance. Prior to joining Bancara, he served as Regional Managing Director at ABN AMRO and later advised on regulatory strategy for cross-border expansion at UBS. His expertise spans structured finance, capital preservation, and intergovernmental compliance.

Vermeer holds an MSc in Financial Law from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a BA in Economics from the University of Zurich. He is fluent in five languages and advises on regulatory coordination across European and African markets.

Amina El-Sayeed

Chief Operating Officer

Amina El-Sayeed oversees operational infrastructure and client service delivery across Bancara’s offices. She brings a decade of experience from the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, where she led private capital operations, followed by senior roles in fintech logistics and enterprise systems design.

She earned her MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and her undergraduate degree from the American University in Cairo. Based in Dubai, El-Sayeed leads internal workforce initiatives and oversees regional partnerships focused on digital finance education.

Kenji Nakamoto

Chief Strategy Officer

Kenji Nakamoto drives Bancara’s strategic growth, market alignment, and global positioning. His background includes serving as Director of Innovation Strategy at Nomura Holdings and consulting on fintech licensing across Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He holds a joint degree in International Economics and Applied Mathematics from Keio University and completed executive coursework at INSEAD. Nakamoto leads Bancara’s partnerships with early-stage fintech firms and development institutions.
